The Illusion of Secularism and Social Hypocrisy in Turkey in Light of the Deniz Göktaş Case

Sacred Masks, Naked Truths

The Illusion of Secularism and Social Hypocrisy in Turkey in Light of the Deniz Göktaş Case

Dear Young Comrades,

The intellectual and critical capacity of a social formation is measured by how radically it shatters the "false consciousness" illusions the ruling class produces to lull the masses. In these first days of July 2026, the process that began at the passport barricade at Istanbul Airport following comedian Deniz Göktaş's stand-up show "Ölü Deniz" (Dead Deniz) and ended in a cell with the Criminal Peace Court's arrest decision is not an isolated judicial error or a simple case of censorship.

The scene before us is the naked "epistemic embargo" reflex of a bourgeois state apparatus whose capacity to manufacture consent has been exhausted and whose hegemony is shaken—developed against every ironic and dialectical truth that opens breaches in the consciousness of the masses.

When we look from the perspective of comrade Ayşen Şahin's shared "Basit Gerçekler" (Simple Truths), there is no complex "legal debate" or refined "public security" problem at hand. The truth stands in the open in all its nakedness: At the point where it cannot manufacture consent and cannot lull the masses, the ruling class resorts to naked violence even by trampling its own laws.

That passport control point at the airport is not merely a technical line separating two geographical borders; it is the class boundary between capital's digital fluidity and the physical captivity of labor and thought.

The Second When the Illusion Shattered

The moment when the viral power of humor in the digital sphere (10 million+ views) came face to face at the airport with the state's naked Repressive State Apparatus, the theocratic political reflex behind the secular shop window was fully exposed.

The system tore off the mask of "freedom of expression" it had adorned with bourgeois democracy fairy tales at the very moment its own existential contradictions were decoded by the dialectical laughter of comedy.

The Sabotage Power of Humor: The dogmatic superstructural discourse the rulers construct as grim-faced, absolute, and beyond dispute loses its halo of sacredness (aura) the moment it is shaken by rational mind and irony. Laughter that destroys fear and exposes the hollowness of official truth is a direct security threat to the system.

This article is written to dismantle, starting from the empirical reality of the Göktaş case, the fake secular regime in Turkey, Diyanet's shadow role in this mechanism, the ontological inversion of rights in the light of Prof. Dr. İoanna Kuçuradi's philosophy of values, and the social hypocrisy that feeds this entire machinery.

Against the imposition of depoliticization, not thinking, and submission to ruling dogmas—it is time to erect that epistemic barricade where we will not allow the bourgeois state to seize our words and our laughter.

First Simple Truth: The Fraud of Covering Infrastructure Misery with a Sacred Veil

The first light the "simple truths" lens casts on bourgeois ideology is the colossal inversion in the system's hierarchy of priorities. Karl Marx said that in capitalist society, ruling morality and law are fog screens covering material relations of production.

Today, the simplest, most bare fact every eye looking at the naked reality of July 2026 Turkey will see is that the working class, youth, and broad popular masses have been pushed into an infrastructural hell.

The material reflections of this structural collapse at the economic base (infrastructure) are clear and empirical:

  • Real inflation in kitchens exceeding the absolute impoverishment threshold of the masses,
  • The minimum wage and wages in the labor market turning into abstract numbers that melt before they are even received,
  • Our young comrades being deprived of housing, nutrition, and the most basic human development opportunities and being rendered futureless,
  • Work murders and reckless plunder of nature being escalated without restraint to secure capital's profit rates.

At precisely this point, the greatest risk the ruling class and its executive committee face is the masses beginning to question the class and economic causes of this material misery. The moment exploited masses begin to ask "Why am I hungry, why do I have no future, why are my rights seized?", bourgeois hegemony receives a mortal wound.

The Artificial Inquisition Theater: Where Is the Danger?

The colossal fraud produced by the bourgeois state apparatus and its judicial mechanism enters precisely to redirect this material anger. The illusion placed before society in Deniz Göktaş's arrest process is this: "The greatest, most urgent, and most mortal danger in this country is not poverty, corruption, or children going to bed hungry, but a comedian's chronological and religious jokes on stage."

Superstructural Manipulation: Instead of putting bread in the hands of exploited masses, the state injects into their consciousness an artificial "defense of the sacred." So that the worker's and the poor's anger does not turn toward the capitalists who strip them bare, that anger is bent toward an artist who filters official dogmas through humor.

  - Exploitation of Labor ====> - Artificial Theological Ramparts
  - Futureless Youth - Comedian Cells (TCK 216/3)

(Focus of Material Anger) (Artificial Anger Diversion)
TCK 216/3 and TCK 216/1: Apparatuses of Class Diversion

The legal armor of this fraud—TCK 216/3 (Publicly degrading religious values) and TCK 216/1 (Inciting the public to hatred and enmity)—were not designed, as bourgeois jurists claim, "to protect social peace and public order." On the contrary, these articles function to divide social peace with artificial theological ramparts.

What actually divides the people and incites hatred and enmity is wealth transfers, luxury palaces, and deep class chasms; yet the legal article, by arresting a comedian, gifts poor masses a fake "common enemy" (secular intellectuals, artists, critical reason).

Ruling morality uses a sacred veil to cover the nakedness of exploitation in the infrastructure. The more untouchable and sacred that veil is declared, the harder it becomes to see the class plunder behind it. The fake outrage produced through the Deniz Göktaş case is an ideological engineering marvel that forces masses to stand behind their own exploiters. As young comrades, the first simple truth we must see is this: Every censorship barricade declared sacred is in fact a class shield protecting property and exploitation.

Second Simple Truth: Linguistic Fraud — The Deliberate Blindness to Subject-Object Distinction

When we apply the "simple truths" filter to linguistic and informational professionalism, the colossal conceptual fraud behind the TCK 216/3 barricade to which bourgeois justice resorts in arresting Deniz Göktaş is exposed in all its nakedness. For a philosopher, a linguist, or any subject with minimal logical consciousness, the simplest truth is this: A believing person and the dogma that is the object of belief are never the same thing. Yet the ruling class's legal mechanism deliberately blinds itself to philosophy's and language's most basic rule—the dialectical distinction between Subject and Object. This blindness is not a technical inadequacy or a simple judicial error; it is a conscious linguistic operation designed for the survival of theological-political exploitation.

Epistemological Abyss: Insult to the Subject vs. Criticism of the Object

To dismantle this fraud and scatter the fog screen, we must clarify to whom and to what language is directed. There are two diametrically opposed poles:

Situation A — Attack Directed at the Subject (Personal Insult): > "Why do you believe, you fool!" > This proposition directly targets the believing individual's person, honor, and existence. A historical-materialist perspective, though it sees the masses' religious alienation as an output of the order of exploitation, never defends the degradation of individual persons' character. Because that person is a victim of false consciousness and hegemonic encirclement produced by superstructural apparatuses.

Situation B — Criticism Directed at the Object (Philosophical / Artistic Reason): > "Believing in religion is foolishness" or "The historical chronology of this sacred text is inconsistent, absurd." This proposition targets not a flesh-and-blood human being but a system of thought, a dogma, a cognitive attitude—in other words, an epistemic object. This statement may be found crude, provocative, or inflammatory; yet its target is not a person but a structural construct.

The Hypocritical Packaging of Bourgeois Justice

Here the system's hypocrisy enters precisely: Bourgeois justice deliberately bends the objective criticisms and ironic observations Deniz Göktaş made at Situation B level in his show into Situation A—that is, into "an attack of hatred and degradation directed at a section of the people"—and punishes accordingly.

  • The Cunning "Humanization" of the Sacred: Ideas, dogmas, books, or institutions have no ontological capacity for "being hurt," "taking offense," or "being insulted." Yet the judiciary dresses dogma in a "legal armor" as if it were human, exempting it from criticism.

  • Concern for Political Legitimacy: Why do they knowingly fail to see this difference? Because the moment they accept that dogma, ideology, or texts deemed sacred are "discussable, criticizable, and mockable objects," the class exploitation, obedience, and consent mechanism they built upon that dogma will crumble to dust.

Viewed through İoanna Kuçuradi's human rights theory, rights belong not to ideas but only to human beings. When a comedian on stage satirizes theological chronology, no one's right to life, housing, work, or belief is taken from their hands; only a thought-object is passed through the dialectical filter of humor.

Ruling morality's declaring Situation B a crime by distorting this simple truth is nothing other than a superstructure intellectually at its wits' end transforming law into a censorship whip to protect its own sacred exploitation. Young comrades, exposing this linguistic trap and defending without compromise the criticizability of the object in courtrooms is the most founding brick of the epistemic barricade.

Third Simple Truth: The Secularism Theater and Diyanet's Shadow Inquisition

One of the most stable and most organized illusions of Turkish capitalism is the fairy tale that a constitutional "secularism" regime exists on these lands. This narrative that ruling media and liberal intellectuals put on stage at every crisis shatters the moment it hits the plain "simple truths" filter. In the Deniz Göktaş case, the inquisition mechanism operated under the claim of "protecting sacred values" has proven that secular practice in Turkey was never a revolutionary enlightenment aiming to break theological shackles, but rather a rationality of control that nationalizes religion through the state and keeps it in reserve to conceal class exploitation.

The institutional and ideological headquarters of this theater is directly the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet). To understand the simple truth before us, we must first look at the historical-materialist roots of this apparatus, then expose the tactical division of labor behind its "deafening silence" in the Deniz Göktaş trial.

Historical-Materialist Rupture: Communities in Europe, Faith Engineering Here

Bourgeois economists and historians explain the institutional religious difference between Europe and Turkey with "cultural" justifications. Yet the whole truth concerns the historical development of class struggles:

  • The European Experience (Dispossession of the Church): European bourgeoisie, in destroying feudalism and establishing its domination, targeted the greatest feudal landowner before it—the Catholic Church. With radical ruptures such as the French Revolution, the church's properties were seized, its economic power broken, and religion pushed outside the state mechanism. Thus in Europe, religion took the form of communities/unions that finance themselves rather than an official ministry fed from the state budget.

  • The Turkish Experience (Nationalization of the Office of Shaykh al-Islam): The Turkish bourgeois revolution (Kemalism) was organized as a top-down state reflex. The cadres who founded the Republic feared leaving religion entirely to the "autonomous and civil sphere" as in Europe. Because they knew that tarikat and communities remaining autonomous in the provinces could be organized through feudal notables into counter-revolutionary centers of uprising. Therefore, instead of liberating religion or separating it entirely from the state, they abolished the Office of Shaykh al-Islam and established in its place the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) (1924) directly tied to the state. The aim was to bring religion wholly under state control, domesticate it, and produce a docile popular religion that would serve the state's survival.

At the point reached today, Diyanet—with its colossal budget formed from taxes (surplus value) collected from Alevis, atheists, secular workers, in short from all of society—is a monopolistic ministry of faith engineering imposing the dogmas of a single sect (Sunni-Hanafi Islam) on society. This structure where one faith is financed through the state contradicts root and branch even with the most minimal bourgeois definition of secularism.

Diyanet's Deafening Silence: Althusserian Tactical Division of Labor

So why has this colossal apparatus that publishes daily fatwas on current affairs, what women should wear, and the interest economy suddenly sunk into deep silence at the very heart of a case like Deniz Göktaş's that directly "touches the sacred"? Why has it not institutionally issued a statement saying "This comedian must be punished"?

This silence is not neglect but a flawless and professional division of labor between what Louis Althusser conceptualized as Ideological State Apparatuses and Repressive State Apparatuses.

Institutional Synchronization: Diyanet is the system's greatest Ideological State Apparatus. Its task is to sanctify the order of exploitation through Friday sermons and preaching, spread a culture of fatalism, and ideologically water the social ground. In the Deniz Göktaş case Diyanet does not enter the fray with an official statement; because if it speaks institutionally, the bourgeois state's greatest mask—"judicial independence" and the "rule of law" shop window—is completely shattered. The color of the case instantly turns into a "medieval inquisition court."

In this tactical division of labor the process works as follows:

  1. Preparing the Ground: Diyanet and tarikat networks encircle social consciousness with dogmas, coding critical thought in advance as "sin and crime."

  2. Digital Triggering (Trolls and Informants): Troll armies fed by this ideological climate and the CİMER mechanism are set in motion, producing an artificial "social outrage" with 185 institutional complaints.

  3. Entry of Naked Violence: The Repressive Apparatus (prosecutor, police, and criminal peace court) takes the stage; puts on handcuffs, closes the cell door.

Dogma's Fear of Coming Down to the "Discussion Table"

Another philosophical and empirical truth behind Diyanet's silence is dogma's ontological fear. A belief system that claims to be absolute commits suicide against its own legitimacy the moment it enters discussion on equal footing with rational discourse that criticizes, mocks, and dismantles it.

If Diyanet made an institutional statement and attempted to give theological responses to the arguments in Göktaş's show, it would have to accept the comedian and his rational humor as a legitimate interlocutor. Dogma knows that no convoluted fatwa it produces can intellectually defeat that clear humor watched by millions on YouTube against rational reason, historical chronology, and dialectical laughter.

The theological center, knowing it will lose in the intellectual field and that its hollowness will be exposed before humor, hands the field directly to the state's instruments of force. Diyanet's silence is the masking not of institutional power but of theological helplessness and impotence before rational reason.

Young comrades; deciphering the secularism theater in Turkey and Diyanet's shadow inquisition role is the first step to taking the theological whip the rulers swing over us from their hands. While the order of exploitation wants to dazzle us by polishing the sky and lulling us, our task is to turn our eyes from that glitter and fix them on the naked, class, and simple truths on earth.

Fourth Simple Truth: Bourgeois Opposition's "Sacred" Fear and Complicity in Crime

The most naked moments of class struggle are not when the ruling bloc attacks but when the masks fall from actors within the order who sell themselves as "opposition." When we look through the "Simple Truths" lens, the attitude bourgeois opposition (whether social democratic or nationalist secular) displayed during Deniz Göktaş's arrest process is not simple cowardice but structural class solidarity and ideological complicity in crime. While the power bloc's small and fascistic partners (figures such as Mustafa Destici) don inquisition language on screens and social media and threaten an artist with death saying "You'll be like Salman Rushdie, you'll find your ruin"; the cringing, cynical, and conciliatory stance of bourgeois opposition once again proves that an invisible theological-political consensus exists among Turkey's ruling political elite.

The Political Economy of "Not Frightening the Right-Wing Voter" Opportunism

The greatest argument of the opposition within the order in this process is that famous and stale strategy of "not frightening the right-wing voter, conservative masses." Though bourgeois political scientists package this as "electoral rationality," from a historical-materialist perspective this is open opportunism.

  • Escape from the Task of Educating the Masses: While revolutionary opposition aims to liberate the masses' consciousness from dogmas and the ruling class's opium, bourgeois opposition accepts the masses' existing religious alienation as a given and reduces it to a "customer" relationship to be harvested at the ballot box.

  • Submission to Hegemony: Opposition has accepted in advance the theological-political playing field drawn by power. At every barricade power builds through sacreds, opposition chooses to hide behind that barricade rather than tear it down. This is complicity in crime that reproduces the hegemony of ruling ideology every day.

The Rhetorical Trap: "The Arrest Was Too Harsh But..."

The sentences bourgeois opposition parties and their comfortable columnists construct after Deniz Göktaş's arrest share a common linguistic and ideological template:

"Of course arrest was a very harsh measure, it was unlawful BUT respect must also be shown to our sacred values, the people's beliefs. Making beliefs the subject of mockery is not right."

This sentence is the peak of bourgeois politics' hypocrisy. That "BUT" conjunction in the middle of the sentence wholesale destroys the "unlawfulness" finding that precedes it and philosophically legitimizes the state's censorship mechanism and inquisition logic.

With this rhetoric opposition sends power and its Criminal Peace Courts this message: "Your grounds for punishing this man (premise) are correct, that is, religion cannot be criticized; only the method you used (arrest) was procedurally harsh." An opposition that accepts in advance that criticizing a system of thought, a dogma, is "disrespect and crime" cannot defend secularism. They are in such philosophical misery that they cannot grasp the principle İoanna Kuçuradi clearly articulated: "rights belong not to ideas but to human beings."

The Same Class Reflex: The Desire Not to Let the Whip Slip from One's Hand

So comrades, why is this opposition so silent before power's theological aggression and voluntarily joins the "respect for the sacred" chorus? The answer lies in the capitalist class reflex they themselves share.

Bourgeois opposition does not aim to uproot the existing order of exploitation but to restore the system (reorganize it) by changing the managerial cadre at its top. They too know very well that in Turkey the cheapest and most effective way to convince the working class, youth, and poor masses of neoliberal exploitation, insecurity, and futurelessness is fatalism, religious dogmas.

Political Bloc | Class Function of Religion | Practical Reflection Power Bloc (AKP / People's Alliance) | Hegemony Sword: Directly sanctifying exploitation, imprisoning those who object. Naked Violence, TCK 216/3 Inquisition. Bourgeois Opposition (Opposition Within the Order) | Reserve Whip: Preserving dogma to keep masses docile when in power later. Silence, "Respect for the Sacred" Opportunism.

If today masses awaken through a comedian's dialectical laughter on stage, grasp the hollowness of theological dogmas, and shatter the illusions of official ideology; tomorrow they will not believe the tales of "docile, domesticated capitalism" bourgeois opposition will place before them with that rational mind either. A proletariat that destroys dogmas through laughter also destroys the order of exploitation.

That is why bourgeois opposition wholeheartedly wants religion to remain a whip of control in the hands of the state and the system. Their fear is not the trampling of sacreds but the masses' awakening to critical and class consciousness. Young comrades; exposing this hypocritical "sacred" barricade of opposition within the order is one of the most founding steps of class struggle. While all cliques of the rulers (power and opposition alike) unite to choke laughter, our task is to turn that laughter into an organized assault of truth!

Fifth Simple Truth: The Ontological Inversion of Rights Through İoanna Kuçuradi's Theory

The most insidious layer of the ideological encirclement surrounding the Deniz Göktaş case is the state's and its ruling media's cunning of marketing this arrest in a "human rights" package. The argument we frequently hear—"Freedom of belief is also a human right, therefore preventing insult to people's beliefs is protecting human rights"—is nothing but a miserable sophistry devoid of philosophical depth.

When we turn that sharp "Simple Truths" lens inherited from philosophical tradition this time to the plane of ethics and ontology, the theoretical arsenal of Prof. Dr. İoanna Kuçuradi—the pole star of Turkish philosophy—emerges. Kuçuradi's Philosophy of Values (Axiology) and Human Rights Theory offer us an unshakable ethical map to sort out the conceptual soup bourgeois law deliberately creates around TCK 216/3 and show how rights are ontologically inverted (turned upside down).

Ideas, Religions, or Concepts Have No Rights

The plainest and most radical simple truth Kuçuradi contributed to the philosophy of human rights is this: Human rights are not principles invented to protect abstract concepts, beliefs, ideologies, institutions, or dogmas. Human rights exist solely and only to "protect the human being, the possibilities of humanization, and human dignity."

Ontological Truth: An abstract system of thought, a religion, a book, or a political ideology cannot have a right to "being hurt," "taking offense," "being degraded," or "immunity." Right belongs solely and only to the human being—a living, suffering, producing, flesh-and-blood subject. Concepts do not breathe, concepts do not bleed, concepts cannot be thrown into prison.

Bourgeois law, in arresting Deniz Göktaş, grants abstract belief systems a legal shield and rights as if they were "living human beings." In doing so it tramples the most fundamental human right of a real, living, thinking human being (Deniz Göktaş)—freedom of thought, evaluation, and expression—by locking him in a cell. This is the ontological inversion of law and ethics. Living human beings are sacrificed to protect dead concepts.

The Boundary Between "Evaluation" (Criticism) and "Trampling Values" (Violation)

Kuçuradi emphasizes the concept of "making correct evaluation" when examining human actions. A comedian's going on stage to satirize the historical contradictions of sacred texts, the chaos of translations, or the rulers' abuse of religion is a philosophical and artistic act of evaluation.

  • Humor Is an Evaluation: Criticism and humor pass their object (religion, ideology, politics) through the filter of rational mind. Beliefs being criticized and mocked to the end is the founding right of the human mind; because every thought not criticized becomes dogma, and dogma ultimately turns into a whip of class domination.

  • What Is Trampling Human Value (Violation)?: Applying discrimination against a person solely because of their religious belief (or lack of belief), dismissing them from work, taking housing rights from their hands, subjecting them to physical/psychological violence, or directly degrading their person is a violation of human rights.

Viewed through Kuçuradi's lens, the simplest truth to be seen is this: However harsh, however shocking, or however mocking a criticism directed at a system of thought (object) may be, it does not diminish the "value of being human" of the people (subjects) who believe in that thought, nor does it violate their rights. A person loses nothing from their human dignity because a text they deem sacred is dismantled by dialectical laughter on stage.

Therefore, coding criticism of a dogma as "an attack on the rights of people who believe in that dogma" is the colossal philosophical lie to which bourgeois justice resorts.

Ethical Bankruptcy: Vague Concepts Turned into Class Weapons

Kuçuradi reminds us of another simple truth: "When the content of a concept is vague yet everyone thinks they know it, that concept turns into a dangerous weapon in the rulers' hands." The phrase "religious values adopted by the people" in TCK 216/3 is precisely the peak of this philosophical vagueness and ethical bankruptcy.

This legal article that leaves entirely to the ruling class's political needs of the moment and the arbitrary interpretations of Criminal Peace Judges what counts as "religious value" and what counts as "degradation" is a legal shackle struck against rational mind. The judiciary uses this vagueness to package the artist's intellectual "evaluation" on stage as if it were a "rights violation" against the masses' human dignity and make it grounds for prison cells.

Young comrades; this philosophical arsenal İoanna Hoca presents to us is the strongest document of truth we will throw in the face of bourgeois justice in courtrooms and in the streets. We reject the fairy tale of the inviolability of ideas. Religions, ideologies, and dogmas are objects that can be criticized, discussed, and have their absurdities exposed to the end. Right belongs to the human being of flesh and bone; defending Deniz Göktaş's right to freedom is defending human dignity and rational mind against the tyranny of abstract dogmas!

Operational Truth for Young Comrades: Trench Warfare Guide at the Police Station and Courthouse Front

Becoming conscious of simple truths is not enough comrades; when face to face with the repressive apparatus this consciousness must be transformed into material and legal barricades. The process that began with Deniz Göktaş's detention at the airport makes mandatory a practical trench warfare guide every oppositional subject must carry in their pocket in the surveillance society of late capitalism.

For the much broader, in-depth, and detailed legal methodology of these operational steps and rights-seeking tactics, you must absolutely consult our previously published work Deniz Göktaş Detention and the Epistemic Barricade and its main text. We can summarize the operational trench line that will protect your subject integrity against the bourgeois state's law enforcement and judicial mechanisms in plainest form as follows:

  • Phase 1: Defending the Digital Position (Moment of Apprehension): Shut the phone off completely immediately (Power Off). Cancel biometric locks (FaceID/TouchID). Under Constitution Article 38/5 (Nemo Tenetur) absolutely refuse to give passwords. Under CMK 134 do not allow your device to be tampered with without a special judge's decision and forensic imaging.

  • Phase 2: Subject Protection Against Spatial Domination (Custody): Neutralize police's informal interview traps masked as "chat over tea" by saying "I will not speak without my lawyer." Track the 24-hour legal limit in CMK 91. Under CMK 147 refuse to give a statement while sleepless and exhausted and protect your biological resistance.

  • Phase 3: The Epistemology of the Statement (Interrogation Room): Do not give theoretical and long answers to open-ended intention-reading questions; stay at the minimal and legal boundary ("My statements are within the bounds of freedom of expression and satire, I had no criminal intent"). The moment you understand the interrogator's intention is a frame-up, put on the table the political and founding power of your right to silence under CMK 147/1-e.

  • Phase 4: Recording Material Existence (Istanbul Protocol): In health checks absolutely have police removed from the examination room. Resist handcuffed examination imposition. From reverse handcuff bruises to psychological threats you suffered, ensure every anomaly is written word for word into the forensic report (Entry-Extension-Exit examinations).

  • Phase 5: Written Text Wars (Protocol Control): Against the clerk bending your words into bourgeois jargon (turning satire into insult), read the text line by line. Have blanks canceled with a "Z" line. If your demands are not corrected, under CMK 169 write an annotation in your own hand; if your right to annotate is also blocked, as radical negation refuse to sign (do not sign).

The Victory of Simple Truths and Dialectical Laughter

Dear Young Comrades,

We have sliced from beginning to end the shocking course of the Deniz Göktaş case; the misery of bourgeois law, the institutional theater exhibited under the name of secularism, and İoanna Kuçuradi's ethical filter. At this point reached, the most vital issue before us is not merely building a legal defense line but how we will preserve our own sanity and cognitive integrity against this systemic madness.

The post-truth universe produced by late capitalism and the political power that is its local executor is a colossal psychological assault on the masses. The mind of youth that impoverishes every day with the fairy tale that inflation is falling, suffers injustice every day with the lie that justice works smoothly, and finally encounters the sophistry that "public peace was disturbed" because of a comedian's ironic sentences is under systematic gaslighting (psychological manipulation).

The Sole Way to Preserve Sanity: Pursuing Material Truth

Within this organized madness spiral there is only one way to preserve our sanity and not fall into cynicism and hopelessness: To pursue naked, objective, and concrete truth relentlessly. Those convoluted ideological lies, dogmas, and glittering illusions the ruling class produces are elements that rot the mind and alienate the person from their own reality. Sanity is preserved not by submitting to fake sacreds in the sky but by planting our feet firmly on the material reality of earth.

  • The Nakedness of Truth Is Healing: Seeing that the fire in the kitchen cannot be covered with religious fatalism, that class fear lies behind the TCK 216/3 inquisition, and that the state resorts to handcuffs because it cannot manufacture consent is a mental awakening.

  • Cognitive Anchor: The moment you grasp truth with its class roots, the digital panopticons and troll armies the system hurls at you cannot drive you mad. Truth is the founding anchor of our minds against temporary storms.

The Power That Shatters the Wall of Fear: Dialectical Laughter

What Deniz Göktaş did in his show and what terrified the powerful so much was precisely to lay bare this truth in the dialectical language of humor. Those hollow dogmas ruling morality declares grim-faced, threatening, and untouchable lose all their grandeur when they enter the filter of rational mind and joy.

Laughter is the antidote to fear. The powerful know what to do when they see an angry crowd before them; because anger is ground that will legitimize their monopoly on violence. Yet the powerful are paralyzed when they see before them a reason that laughs at them, amuses itself with the hollowness of their dogmas, and pulls down their sacred mask. The reason they resort to naked violence (arrest) is this moment of paralysis. Dialectical laughter is the proletariat's intellectual optimism against the tyranny of the superstructure.

Closing the Front: Truth Will Win!

Young comrades; however deep the legal misery and secular hypocrisy in Turkey, however brazenly the wheels of exploitation turn, no handcuffs have ever been invented that can wholly stop history's advance.

We refuse to surrender to the climate of fear, the prison of self-censorship, and the tyranny of dogmas. We will preserve our sanity, our honor, and our future by defending truth against every vague legal article and standing behind human value with İoanna Hoca's clarity.

We will not surrender our words to the bourgeois state's censorship mechanisms, nor our joy to their inquisition darkness. We will win, because we defend earth's simplest, most naked, and most revolutionary truth.

Sharpen your words, arm your legal rights like shields, and stand with the organized power of dialectical laughter against those hollow illusions the rulers call sacred!

Truth is always simple, bare, and class-based. Laughter cannot be handcuffed!
