The IT Worker's Manifesto Hour: Organized BilişimSen Against Boundless Exploitation!

The IT sector today is living through the greatest era of "illusion" in history. The colorful offices presented to us, the "title" games, and the "we are a family" refrains are in fact nothing but a digital cosmetic makeover of the savage exploitation order of the 19th century. BilişimSen comes to wipe off this makeup, to end the loneliness at the keyboard, and to defend the dignity of labor.

1. The White-Collar Fairy Tale Is Over: We Are IT Workers!

They kept us away from unions by making us believe we were "privileged." Yet we know that, as long as we do not own the means of production, our fancy titles do not protect us from job insecurity, mobbing, and inflation.

  • Historical Legacy: From those who smashed the weaving looms to the present day, the struggle of the working class has not changed. Whatever the assembly line in the factory was yesterday, today it is Jira, ClickUp, and the never-ending "deadlines."
  • The Artificial Intelligence Threat: In the hands of the bosses, artificial intelligence is not a "productivity tool" but a digital whip that devalues labor and threatens to throw the worker out the door. As the digital intellectuals who produce this technology, we will say "STOP" to technology serving exploitation!

2. International Rights: We Will Not Be "Second-Class Workers"!

We will make all the rights enjoyed by our colleagues working at the headquarters of global IT giants the standard at their branches and local subsidiaries in Turkey as well.

  • Global Equality: Whatever the "right to disconnect," weekly working hours, and social rights applied in Silicon Valley or Europe are, they will be the same for the IT worker in Turkey.
  • The Struggle for Vested Rights: We will inscribe international best-practice examples into our country's legal framework and collective agreements as "vested rights." We will put an end to companies seeing Turkey as a "paradise of cheap labor where no one claims their rights"!

3. Not a "Family," But Union Power!

The bosses' rhetoric of "family" is an effort to cover up mobbing and institutionalized violence.

  • No Pass for Violence: We will be the legal armor against messages arriving at midnight, against rest rights seized over the weekend, and against the psychological terror of managers.
  • Exposure and Public Opinion: We will name and shame the companies that make rights violations a habit and engage in union-busting; by creating public awareness with our organized strength, we will force them to back down.

4. BilişimSen: Democratic, Transparent, and Independent!

BilişimSen's strength comes not only from its membership numbers, but from the democratic quality and moral superiority of its internal functioning. Our union can be the domain of no political faction, narrow clique, or coterie ambitions. We are building a structure that represents the common will of the IT laborer and is governed by institutional ethical rules.

  • Not Narrow Cliquism, But Participatory Unity: We base ourselves on transparency and broad participation in decision-making processes. Bargains made behind closed doors or lobbying activities harm our union unity. Under the roof of BilişimSen there is a single group: IT Laborers. Differences of opinion are our richness, but it is the shared responsibility of all of us not to allow these differences to turn into narrow cliquism that paralyzes the union.
  • Accountability Is Not a Favor, It Is a Duty: Our management cadres are responsible to every one of our members. The account of every penny spent and every signature made is given transparently in our legitimate bodies and member meetings. There is no place in contemporary unionism for mindsets that hide information or shirk accountability.
  • The General Assembly: The Highest Authority Where the Will Manifests: Our upcoming first general assembly will not be a process where formalities are fulfilled, but a festival of democracy where our union's roadmap is determined and the will of the base is made manifest. We invite all our members to participate actively in this process and to take ownership of our union's future.
  • Political Maturity: Our courtesy comes from the soundness of our principles. Our stance is clear against antidemocratic practices that sabotage internal union processes or attempt to create personal spheres of power. We defend a direct and participatory democracy in which it is the governed, not the governors, who hold the right to speak and decide.

5. This Is Our Call: We Are Stronger Together!

When we are alone, we are each a "replaceable" staff member; but when we unite under the roof of BilişimSen, we are that most powerful code that changes the flow of the system!

  • Become a Member, Give Strength: We will write the labor laws of the future.
  • Have a Say: By taking ownership of the general assembly process, let us turn our union into a true fortress of labor.

Not algorithms, but organized workers will change the world!

Now is the time to organize, now is the time for BilişimSen!
