Lightning from Underground to the Capital: The Doruk Madencilik Resistance and the Naked Truth of Class War

Young comrades,

Those calloused hands that, hundreds of meters underground, amid unbroken darkness and deadly risks, produce surplus value for capital accumulation are today opening vast breaches in the asphalt of the capital, in the walls of the regime and of the bourgeoisie. This shepherd’s fire lit by the workers of Doruk Madencilik and Eti Gümüş for their usurped rights, unpaid wages, and stolen futures has confronted, in the streets of Ankara, the naked force of the state, the antidemocratic bans on protest issued by governorships, and the shields the police raise against the press.

We must set aside the false "human rights" chatter that seeps in from the liberal world, the passivizing "victim worker" literature of the bourgeois media, and the illusions of a "just state above classes." Reality is being written on the barricades of Ankara by the miner’s boot, by handcuffed wrists, and by the rotten order that tries to hide behind police shields. Now is the time to analyze this material reality with a dialectical grasp, to agitate, and to pass into action!

The Materialist Chronology of the Process: What Happened at Doruk Madencilik?

To grasp the matter correctly, the course of events must be treated not through abstract categories but within the historical flow of concrete class struggle. The process lived at Doruk Madencilik and within Yıldızlar SSS Holding, to which it belongs, has a dialectical chronology in which contradictions accumulated step by step until they reached the point of explosion:

Capital Accumulation and the Regime of Plunder: Through public privatizations, Yıldızlar SSS Holding brought into its fold vast assets such as Eti Gümüş and Doruk Madencilik (the Yunus Emre Thermal Power Plant and the mine shafts). Gathering thousands of mining licenses, the holding secured for years an immense accumulation of capital through public subsidies and the surplus value created by the miner.
Dumping the Capital Crisis onto Labor and the Usurpation of Rights: While the company made profit and grew its capital, at the first financial bottleneck it dumped the cost directly onto the worker’s body. Unpaid wages for months, usurped severance payments, imposed compulsory/unpaid leave, and the seizure of individual pension funds became institutionalized.
The First Stage and the Illusion of Promises (April 2026): Mine workers whose rights had been usurped began the first mass resistance by shutting themselves underground in the mine. Ministries and civil administrations that entered the scene, giving promises in the boss’s name and signing protocols, sought to break the workers’ practical power and end the action. This stage was the period in which the bourgeois illusion that the state is "father and arbiter" was put to the test before the workers.
The Bankruptcy of Promises and the Falling of the Regime’s Mask (July–August 2026): It became clear that the promises given, the protocols signed, and the inspectors’ reports had no legal or practical force. The state imposed not a single sanction on the holding; the boss did not pay his debt. The myth of the "compassionate state" in the worker’s mind smashed against material reality and fell to pieces.
The Ankara March and the Capital Barricade: Choosing not the path of despair but that of organized rage, the miners set out from the Eskişehir and Elazığ lines toward the capital, to the Ministry of Energy. Once the working class carried its demands directly into the heart of the regime, the Ankara Governorship declared at jet speed a general ban on protest for fifteen days.
Censorship Shields and Naked Coercive Violence: Barricades were set up against the miners entering the capital. Security forces raised their shields to block journalists’ cameras. Officials of Bağımsız Maden-İş and nearly 100 mine workers were beaten and taken into custody.
The Point of Leap and the Hunger Strike: Detentions and repression did not force the miners to step back; on the contrary, they sharpened consciousness. By beginning a hunger strike, the workers showed their resolve to continue the practical-legitimate struggle in Kızılay and in every space they occupy.

The Illusions of Ruling Ideology and Dialectical Truth

The bourgeois state and its media apparatuses continually manufacture false narratives to cover over social contradictions. Yet at moments when class struggle sharpens, these narratives smash against the wall of material reality:

The Miner’s Resistance	"The economic cry of helpless and victimized people."	A historical revolutionary subject that, with the power that comes from production, forces the state and the boss to retreat.

The Panic Behind the Police Shield: The Dialectic of Censorship and Bans

The fifteen-day ban on protest taken at jet speed by the Ankara Governorship, and the raising of shields by security forces to prevent journalists from recording, show not the regime’s strength but the depth of its contradictions and its fear.

The police shield is not merely a physical obstacle; it is an ideological barricade. The state knows that the lie it produces—"we are a state of law"—will be smashed to pieces in a second before the miner’s body dragged on the ground and before handcuffed hands. Visual censorship is the bourgeois state’s scramble to cover its loss of legitimacy.

The legal machinery that does not stir a finger while the boss for months usurps the worker’s sweat and tramples the laws rises instantly, under the cover of "ban," when the worker sets out to claim a right. The law exists to protect capital from the worker—not to protect the worker from the boss.

As the dose of repression rises, the illusion of the state in the minds of the masses is torn apart. Every banned action, every blocked camera, destroys even the last scraps of faith in bourgeois justice in the minds of the working class and of revolutionary youth.

Bağımsız Maden-İş, Başaran Aksu, and Organic Class Leadership

Historical materialism teaches us that the masses forge their own organic leaders and their class consciousness in the direct fire of struggle. The organization of Bağımsız Maden-İş, and every sentence voiced by Başaran Aksu and the mine representatives on the barricade, is a revolutionary slap in the face of yellow unionism and bureaucratic bargaining.

The cry of those like Başaran Aksu and of the resisting miners is not a personal objection. That cry is:

The collective mind of the millions who extract the wealth underground yet are condemned to misery above ground.
An objective class consciousness that, by saying "We are not dealing with the boss, but with the state mind behind him," exposes the organic bond between capital and the state.
A revolutionary practice that proves that only practical-legitimate struggle—not bureaucratic promises and ornate words—brings gains.

A Historical Call to Young Comrades: Spread the Word, Grow the Barricade!

Young comrades! For a Marxist it is not enough merely to interpret the world; the point is to change it! The resistance of the Doruk Madencilik and Eti Gümüş workers lays upon us the task of tearing down the sterile walls of the academy and the passivizing atmosphere of social media.

Our ally is the working class; our compass is dialectical materialism. In that direction, as the requirement of our revolutionary responsibility, we must act at once:

Spread the Miner’s Voice across Digital and Physical Barricades: Transform the agitation-filled messages, videos, and calls of Başaran Aksu, of Bağımsız Maden-İş, and of the resisting Doruk Madencilik workers into weapons of propaganda across all communications networks, in university lecture halls, in high schools, and in the streets. Smash the blackout wall built by the ruling media with the revolutionary dynamism of the youth!
Carry the Messages of Aksu and the Representatives to Broad Masses: Use social media and digital channels not as a field of entertainment but as a position of agitation and propaganda for class struggle. Carry to the masses every statement that recounts the workers’ just demands and the state–capital crime partnership.
Stand Shoulder to Shoulder in the Street and on the Ground: Take a stand beside the miner before the police barricades in Ankara, in Elazığ, in Eskişehir, and at every point where the resistance strikes. Render the antidemocratic protest bans of the governorships null and void by the force of practical and legitimate struggle!
Weave Revolutionary Solidarity: Transform this struggle not merely into a matter of "wage theft," but into a general class barricade against the order of capital, against privatizations, and against the authoritarianization of the regime.

If police shields are rising, it means the bourgeoisie and its state are afraid. If the miner underground has risen, it means we have a chance to win the future!

Long live the glorious resistance of the Doruk Madencilik and Eti Gümüş workers!

Long live Bağımsız Maden-İş and class solidarity!
